How can I pay?

Go to the "pay" button on the homepage and pay via iDEAL. You can also pay via online banking or a manual transfer. You’ll find the bank account number (and the BIC code for payments from abroad) in our letter. Always include the payment reference with your payment.

My bank account is blocked.

Is your bank account blocked? This is because we have not yet received full payment from you despite previous requests. A lien has been placed on the amount in your account at the time of the seizure. To lift the block, a statement from the bank or full payment is required. The bank has 2 weeks to send this statement to us. You can contact your bank about this. When seizing your bank account, the bailiff has already taken into account a seizure-free amount. This amount depends on your living situation.

I’ve already paid the company directly

Thank you for your payment. We ask you to send proof of payment via the contact form so we can check with our client whether your payment has been received.

Can I arrange a payment plan?

You can request a payment arrangement via our contact form. Do you have an outstanding account with a municipality, water board, province, or partnership? Please note that it’s not always possible to arrange a payment plan at every stage of the collection process.

Why am I receiving mail from Cannock Chase?

Cannock Chase works on behalf of municipalities, water boards, provinces, or partnerships and handles the collection of municipal taxes, water board taxes, parking taxes, and administrative fines. Our employees are appointed as collection officials or tax bailiffs under a mandate decision. This allows Cannock Chase to act not only in the name of the municipality but also under their legal responsibility. The Collection Act 1990 applies to the collection of municipal taxes. The calculated costs are legally stipulated in the Costs Act.

I’ve already paid Cannock Chase

Thank you for your payment. We need time to process a payment. If you paid more than two days ago, we ask you to send proof of payment here.

When can I file an objection?

The correspondence you received states whether an objection is possible and until when you can file it.

I want to object because I didn’t receive the assessment notice, decision, reminder, or enforcement order.

Not receiving an assessment, reminder, or enforcement order cannot be a reason for an objection. This is stipulated by law. If you can prove that you genuinely did not receive the documents, for example due to a move, you can file an objection. Submit your objection with an explanation and evidence via our contact form.

I want to object to the imposed costs

If you disagree with the imposed costs, send us an objection with an explanation and evidence via our contact form. Not receiving an assessment, reminder, or enforcement order cannot be a reason for an objection. This is stipulated by law. If you can prove that you genuinely did not receive the documents, for example due to a move, you can file an objection. Submit your objection with an explanation and evidence via our contact form. Note: you must pay the imposed costs on time. If your objection is found valid, you will be refunded the paid costs.

I disagree with the amount of the assessment or claim

If you disagree with the amount of the assessment or claim, address your objection to the Municipality, Water Board, or Tax Partnership where you have the outstanding tax claim. You can find the contact details on the website of the relevant organization.

I’ve applied for a remission

Have you applied for a remission? Or have you been granted a remission? Then we request that you send us a copy of the letter proving this. You can do this via our contact form.

Can I still apply for a remission?

You cannot apply for a remission with Cannock Chase. However, you can address your question to the municipality or water board of the outstanding assessment.

I’ve already paid, or I have a remission for the outstanding claim.

If you’ve paid and it’s been more than 2 working days, we request that you send proof of payment via the contact form. Have you applied for a remission or been granted a remission? Then we request that you send us the proof via the contact form.

I’m in debt restructuring, under administration, or have been declared bankrupt

We request that you send us proof of this via our contact form. Your administrator or trustee can also contact us via our contact form.

My income is being withheld

Has a lien been placed on your income? This is because we have not yet received full payment despite previous requests. Your employer or benefits agency is required to withhold part of your income and transfer it to us. The lien on your income can only be lifted upon full payment of the case. We will then send a withdrawal of the lien to your employer or benefits agency.

How is my seizure-free amount calculated?

You are entitled to a minimum amount to live on. Therefore, you may keep part of your income to pay fixed expenses and groceries. This is called the seizure-free amount. You will always receive this amount. How much money you can keep depends on your personal situation. To calculate your seizure-free amount, we use data about your household composition and income. We obtain household data from the municipal basic registration (BRP). Income data comes from the UWV Policy Administration, which contains income information from payroll declarations submitted by your employer or benefits agency. How are the costs calculated?

The amount of costs charged to you is legally determined. The calculation is based on the Costs Act for the Collection of State Taxes.

The tax bailiff has served you a report of ‘seizure of real estate.’ This document specifies which property has been seized. The lien can only be lifted by paying the full outstanding amount.

A lien has been placed on my household goods or car

The tax bailiff has left you a report of ‘seizure of movable property.’ This document states when the seized movable items will be sold. The lien can only be lifted by paying the full outstanding amount.

I received mail that isn’t meant for me

Let us know via our contact form. Please include the name of the addressee, the postal code, and the house number where the letter was sent. You can also return the letter to Cannock Chase with the note ‘return to sender - moved.’
