: The amount of costs charged to you is legally determined. The calculation is based on the Costs Act for the Collection of State Taxes.
: Municipal taxes are taxes levied by the municipality for the daily use of municipal facilities, such as streets, sewers, or public lighting. The Municipalities Act specifies which taxes a municipality can levy. Examples of municipal taxes include waste collection fees, property tax, and dog tax. Often, these different types of taxes are collectively referred to as "municipal taxes."
: Cannock Chase works on behalf of municipalities, water boards, provinces, or partnerships and handles the collection of municipal taxes, water board taxes, parking taxes, and administrative fines. Our employees are appointed as collection officials or tax bailiffs under a mandate decision. This allows Cannock Chase to act not only in the name of the municipality but also under their legal responsibility. The Collection Act 1990 applies to the collection of municipal taxes. The calculated costs are legally stipulated in the Costs Act.

If you can prove that you genuinely did not receive the documents, for example due to a move, you can file an objection. Submit your objection with an explanation and evidence via our contact form.
: If you disagree with the imposed costs, send us an objection with an explanation and evidence via our contact form. Not receiving an assessment, reminder, or enforcement order cannot be a reason for an objection. This is stipulated by law. If you can prove that you genuinely did not receive the documents, for example due to a move, you can file an objection. Submit your objection with an explanation and evidence via our contact form. Note: you must pay the imposed costs on time. If your objection is found valid, you will be refunded the paid costs.
: If you disagree with the amount of the assessment or claim, address your objection to the Municipality, Water Board, or Tax Partnership where you have the outstanding tax claim. You can find the contact details on the website of the relevant organization.
: Is your bank account blocked? This is because we have not yet received full payment from you despite previous requests. A lien has been placed on the amount in your account at the time of the seizure. To lift the block, a statement from the bank or full payment is required. The bank has 2 weeks to send this statement to us. You can contact your bank about this. When seizing your bank account, the bailiff has already taken into account a seizure-free amount. This amount depends on your living situation.
